Learn the fundamentals of Irish Set Dancing at a workshop conducted by Paul Carr. These two-hour workshops are open to all, but are particularly aimed at beginners and anyone who would like a refresher course in the basics of Irish Set Dancing. We will be covering the basic stepping and by the end of the workshop you will be able to effortlessly demonstrate the difference between a reel and a hornpipe or an up-jig and down-jig.  Polkas and slides will confuse you no longer. As well as stepping we will show how to 'house around', 'advance and retire' and 'polka body' and demystify those arcane phrases the callers use.

The format will be informal, informative and fun. No partner is necessary.  We will dance figures from the  ceili  program so you can put your new found skills to immediate use at the evening ceili if you wish to.
